Latchkey Software is an independent studio building focused apps for iPhone and iPad. No accounts to create, no data to hand over, no dark patterns — just tools that do their job and get out of the way.
What we’re building
Tasteful
A recipe app that keeps your collection on your device. Save recipes from any site, scan them straight out of a cookbook, plan the week, track the pantry, and ask questions while you’re actually cooking.
How we build
On-device by default
Your recipes, lists, and plans live on your phone and sync through your own iCloud account. There’s no Latchkey database with your name on it, because there’s no account system at all.
Nothing to sign up for
No email capture, no onboarding funnel, no advertising SDKs, no analytics following you between apps. You download it and it works.
Honest pricing
The AI-assisted features cost real money to run, so they’re an optional subscription. Everything else in the app is included permanently, with nothing held back to force an upgrade.
About the studio
Latchkey Software LLC is a small independent software company registered in North Carolina. We’d rather build a short list of apps and maintain them properly than a long list we can’t keep up with.
The name is the latchkey ethic: let yourself in, figure it out, and make something good with the time you’ve got.
